Starfish Impact is sharing a list of nonprofit resources that we think you should know about. From services to programs, each of these allow nonprofits to do more for less!
If you have not come across Tech Soup yet, you are missing out! They provide nonprofits with all things tech – from licenses of Microsoft Word to Intuit Quickbooks – at a fraction of the cost of the regular market.
We are a lover of all things Google but their Doodle makes scheduling an ease. From board meetings to conference calls, this free service makes availability very clear and can also free up your employees from going back and forth with assistants trying to identify windows of time that work for multiple people.
If you are not posting your positions to the USC and UCLA graduate career services person – you are missing out on a bevy of trained potential applicants. Plus, UCLA Division of Continuing Education has several programs that are nonprofit related, from fundraising to PR, which often includes more senior professionals or career transition-ers with applicable past experience. Bonus – sharing job postings directly to the schools is free!
Taproot Foundation connects for profit executives who have created strategic plans and marketing campaigns, managed all sorts of HR snafus, or helped transition new IT technologies, with nonprofits who might never be able to commit the same level of resources to these undertakings.
Have a presentation coming up? Trying to show a variety of perspectives? Use a word cloud! It is a great visual way to convey your point and WordClouds.com allow you to not only create one, but also edit it to match your organization’s colors.
If you are using social media, particularly around an event or campaign, try using a Storify to bring it all together. We have used this to present to Executive Directors and Boards to help show the engagement and value of social media in an easy to read, editable, and shareable format!
Another Google product, but a must use for nonprofits is their Google Analytics. Its free and easy to add, even without a programmer or web designer (you simply copy/paste a unique code onto your website), and it begins to provide actionable data in a user friendly way. It is one of those products that you can make use of at face value, and then the more you learn, the more you can do with it!
