We are thrilled to announce the winner of the #SupportingOurSector Summit Prize. This nonprofit received the most votes in the vote off and was presented with a check last night for the cash portion of the prize and will work directly with the Starfish Impact team to coordinate the custom pro bono services package.
The Skid Row Carnival of Love
“On behalf of the Wayfarer Foundation and Skid Row Carnival of Love, we are beyond honored and grateful to win this amazing award and humbled to be included alongside all of the other amazing nominees. Starfish Impact and #SupportingOurSector have provided us with such an amazing gift and opportunity to help bring awareness to the way our community responds to the needs of individuals and families experiencing homelessness.”
“We’re a brand new organization and this money is going to go a long way of making our dream of creating a Carnival that brings people all over the city together to realize the importance of connecting and humanizing those experiencing homelessness to life.”
-Justin Baldoni, Founder, Wayfarer Foundation’s Skid Row Carnival of Love
The cash and services were generously provided by the Partners (listed below). We thank them and encourage you to visit their sites!

We want to also highlight the many nonprofits that were nominated and the heartwarming reasons people included in the nominations. You can view a complete list of all the nominated organizations with links to their respective sites and a sampling of the reasons they were nominated here.
We’ll be inviting everyone who was involved in #SupportingOurSector to participate in a brief survey to follow in the coming days. We want to hear from your perspective about what worked and what didn’t so we can improve and grow!
And on that note, we are thrilled to share that we plan to make this an annual nonprofit prize funded by the business community! If you know of a business that wants to be involved, please let us know!
Without the support of these key Partners, this initiative would not have grown to the size it is. Each Partner has committed funding and pro bono services for the winning nonprofit. You can learn more about each of them by clicking through to their websites below.
